Beginning Violin

Beginning Guitar

If you are brand new to guitar, this is the place to start. This class teaches foundational guitar basics. Students will learn how to play a variety of songs and basic strumming patterns. Private guitar is for students who have completed phase one or who are proficient with chords and strumming and would like to progress with more challenging songs. Lessons dive deeper into guitar fun and pushes you to learn and practice more. House guitars are available. Take-home lesson books are available for purchase. Come learn strumming, chords, songs, and more. This is a fun instrument for anyone to learn and a great introduction to music, chords, and simple songs. Ukuleles are available in class for those who don't have one. Click here to learn about rentals and more. This class is for all ages.

This class is a place where beginning songwriters can collaborate and write with each other. Each week musicians will share their progress with the other songwriters in a collaborative space centered around learning. Bring your own instrument and share in the joy of song writing.

Designed for drummers who already have some experience under their belts, this class will be taken on practice pads and focused mostly on technique and endurance. Fun and fast-paced, you will learn rudiments, techniques, and even different grips to enhance your snare drumming. Click here to learn about rentals and more.

If you have never played drumset before, this is the place to start. Learn the very basics of drumming as well as the anatomy of a drumset and basic grooves and fills. Drumsticks are available for use during class, or purchase for at home practice. Click here to learn about rentals and more.

If you have any interest in composing music or are enrolled in our songwriters club, this is a great place to learn some basic composition skills. Learn how to create and voice chords, write cadences, and arrange your musical dreams into reality. Click here to learn about rentals and more.

This is a class created with our younger musicians in mind ages 5 to 7 and designed to introduce them to the world of music! They will explore basic rhythms and auxiliary instruments each week while toning their creative skills and sense of time. Click here to learn about rentals and more.

If you are brand new to piano, this is the place to start. Learn where all the notes are on the keyboard as well as some basic skills and songs. This is the perfect class to build a foundation for any musical instrument. Headphones are provided during practice time so you can learn at your own pace in a supportive environment. This class will put together a small combo of jazz musicians. They will learn to read lead sheets, improvise, and work together to learn the basics of jazz. Click here to learn about rentals and more.

Introducing our new community kids choir! Learn how to use voice as an instrument in a structured, safe, and fun group setting. Learn music basics and gain confidence through a variety of vocal techniques.

A guided open practice time. Designed for you or your musician to stop in, ask questions, receive guidance with your practice, or help troubleshoot with your instrument or any music questions.

This time is open to all students free of charge.

All classes and private lessons will begin fall, the week of September 16th.

Private lessons are offered for piano, guitar, drumset, and violin. Space is limited.

Session cost is $60 per session for a four week session of classes. Payments are to be made per session and not per class. Private lessons are $15 per 30 minutes. Workshop fees will be announced separately. We accept checks and cash. All checks should be made payable to School of Music at the Emporium.
